Overview

Join Maranatha in Kenya’s fascinating country! There is a great need for churches and schools in this eastern African country, and local church leadership has requested Maranatha’s assistance.

Volunteers on this project will work at the Kimogoro Adventist School. This school started in 1996 with only 35 students and is now home to more than 300 kids. The growing campus needs help improving its infrastructure.

This group will build another classroom block on campus. Depending on the skills of the volunteers who join the team, there may also be opportunities to conduct local community outreach, children’s programs, and health education.

This project will include a safari at the Nairobi National Park.

Excursions
Nairobi National Park

Nairobi National Park was established in 1946, about 7 km (4.3 mi) south of Nairobi. It is fenced on three sides, whereas the open southern boundary allows migrating wildlife to move between the park and the adjacent Kitengela plains. Herbivores gather in the park during the dry season. Despite its proximity to the city and relatively small size, it boasts a large and varied wildlife population and is one of Kenya’s most successful rhinoceros sanctuaries.
