Overview

Join Maranatha in Peru in November to build a new church for the community of Santa Patricia, a small rural settlement in the Pajarillo district of the San Martín Region in northern Peru.

In 2023, young missionaries came to evangelize this area, which had no Adventist presence. Church members from other places moved to this area to live and help further evangelize the region. After acquiring the land and having a place to meet, they managed to get some sheets and poles to build a roof for gatherings. However, they do not have the resources to build a better church. That’s why they need you!

Maranatha will build a new church in the Peruvian jungle, and you can be part of this mission story.

*At the end of this project, an optional excursion to Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley will be offered (November 22-24).

Excursions
Optional Excursion: Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu, on the other hand, is an ancient Incan citadel nestled high in the Andes, about 2,430 meters (7,970 feet) above sea level in southern Peru. Built in the 15th century and later abandoned, it remained hidden from the outside world until its rediscovery in 1911 by Hiram Bingham. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is renowned for its sophisticated dry-stone construction, panoramic mountain views, and mysterious history. Scholars believe Machu Picchu may have served as a royal estate or religious site. Today, it is one of the most iconic archaeological sites in the world, attracting millions who hike the Inca Trail or take the train to witness its majestic beauty.
