Overview

****This project and waiting list is FULL. If we move through the already existing waiting list, we will reopen the list at that time. If you are a confirmed staff member who has not registered, please contact Maranatha for a separate registration link.***

Maranatha’s annual teen-only project, the Ultimate Workout, is entering its 31st year, and we’re headed to Kayenta, Arizona! Each year, high school aged teens from around the world join the Ultimate Workout and find opportunities to get out of their comfort zone, serve others, connect with Christ, and grow physically, socially, and spiritually.

Kayenta is located in the Navajo Nation, the largest Native American tribe in the United States. This region is truly a mission field and education is one of the biggest ways to impact this community, so volunteers will be able to make a difference by building a new elementary school. Volunteers will also have a chance to interact with the community through outreach projects including a day camp for community children.

This project is Maranatha’s teen-only project. Maranatha provides all project leadership. In fact, adults are not allowed on the project unless they are leadership pre-selected by Maranatha.

***Ultimate Workout 31 was originally scheduled for Peru. Due to travel restrictions in place resulting rom the COVID-19 pandemic, the project has been rescheduled in Arizona during the same dates.***

Excursions
Lake Powell and Grand Canyon

Lake Powell is a man-made reservoir on the Colorado River in Utah and Arizona. This meandering lake is known for unique canyons and sandstone formations and is a popular destination during the hot Arizona summers. The group will enjoy an afternoon of water recreation at the lake during the week.

The Grand Canyon is a 277-mile long, steep-sided canyon carved by the Colorado River in Arizona.  It is 18-miles at its widest point and reaches a depth of over a mile in some areas. The canyon is known for the colorful bands of different types of rock. The group will have a chance to see the awe-inspiring views from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon on the final day before heading to the airport for their departures home.
