Overview

We have a great opportunity to send volunteers to Cuba! Volunteers on this project will be helping with the final stages of the construction of a new church for the San Antonio de los BaƱos congregation in a suburb of Havana. The 218 members of this congregation have been meeting in a member’s home for more than 45 years. A little over the year ago the members started buying property surrounding the house and started an expansion project on the house to turn it into a church. Volunteers will help paint the new church and help with minor finishing projects. In addition, the group will reach out into the local community through clean up projects, sports ministry, and health education. Join Maranatha in Cuba!

Excursions
Havana

During the project, volunteers will have the unique opportunity to tour Havana on two half-day excursions. This iconic city is a blend of cultures, politics, and time. There are clear European and American in uences throughout the city in the architecture and vehicles. Parisian-style balconies, Spanish colonial mansions, and vintage American cars are scattered throughout the city. There is also a plethora of political propaganda lining the streets, monuments to government leaders, and neighborhoods crumbling in decay. It is a fascinating place to visit, and volunteers will be able to experience all parts of this intriguing city.
