Overview

Join Maranatha in the beautiful country of Brazil! Volunteers in this group will be working near Cabo de Santo Agostinho, South to Recife, State of Pernambuco. The Serraria church currently has 20 members and they’ve been adding to their numbers!

Scope

Construction
ESP – Los voluntarios colocarán paredes de bloques para una nueva iglesia en Brasil.
POR – Os Voluntários construirão paredes de blocos para uma nova igreja no Brasil.
ENG – Volunteers will lay block walls for a new church in Brazil.

Community Outreach
ESP – Si tenemos suficientes voluntarios interesados en niños o iniciativas de salud, podemos incluirlos en el ámbito laboral.
POR – Se tivermos voluntários suficientes interessados em crianças ou em iniciativas de saúde, podemos incluí-los no âmbito do trabalho.
ENG – If we have enough volunteers interested in children or health initiatives, we can include them in the job scope.

ARRIVALVolunteers will arrive in Recife, Brazil (REC) between 12 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Friday, October 18Please wait for confirmation from Maranatha before purchasing your airfare to ensure there is still space on the project and to ensure you book the right flight.

DEPARTUREVolunteers not joining the optional excursion will depart from Recife, Brazil (REC) on Sunday, October 27. Volunteers joining the optional excursion will depart from Recife, Brazil (REC) on Tuesday, October 29.

Hotel Canarius

VIEW ACCOMMODATION DETAILS

Our group will stay at the Hotel Canarius, 20 minutes from the job site. Volunteers will gather for meals and worship in the dining/conference room at the lodge. Amenities include bed linens, towels, private bathrooms with hot water, and air conditioning.

Individuals should plan on staying in double occupancy rooms with a roommate. If you would like to room with someone in particular, please let us know prior to the final deadline of the project. Please contact Maranatha to make these arrangements prior to the final deadline.

Travel Information

Volunteers will purchase their own plane tickets to and from Recife, Brazil. The dates posted are the arrival and departure dates from the project. You may need to leave home a day or two before the advertised start date to arrive on the correct date. Maranatha representatives will meet volunteers upon arrival in Recife.

Please wait for confirmation before purchasing your airfare. Booking outside the advertised flight windows could result in additional fees and missed portions of the project.

Porto de Galinhas

Porto de Galinhas is a beach in the municipality of Ipojuca, Pernambuco, Brazil. It is a major tourist destination, famous for its bright-water beaches and natural pools. Volunteers will enjoy two days in the area, including boat and buggy rides.
