Overview

The Pine Tree Academy project in Freeport, Maine, is one of our many efforts based in North America. Each year, Maranatha works with organizations in the United States and Canada to provide volunteer labor for various construction or renovation projects.

Since 1961, Pine Tree Academy (PTA) has prepared youth for success through Christ-centered education. During COVID, this Pre-K—12th grade school experienced an increase in enrollment, and are currently serving 145 students. On this project, Pine Tree Academy is requesting assistance with building a porch across the front of the boys dorm, interior painting and metal roofing.

Painted elementary and high school hallway ceilings, primed walls and ceilings in fitness room and where needed, refurbished high school boys bathroom:cleaned, painted, installed new countertops, repaired ventilation system for shower and changing area, sanded benches in changing area. Removed and built front porch steps at boys dorm. Installed metal roof on Industrial Arts Building.

Volunteers requesting housing will stay in the dormitory. There are 20 dorm rooms. There are also 5 RV spaces available with water, electric and sewer.

Travel Information

If you are planning on flying to the project, the closest airport is Portland, Maine (PWM). This is approximately 20 miles from the school.

Please book flights that come in before 6 pm on the arrival date. If you need to fly in later than 6 pm or outside of the arrival and departure dates, please check with the Maranatha office to confirm that your travel plans can be accommodated.
