Overview

Maranatha worked all throughout Peru in the early 2000’s. The churches and schools that were completed have since blossomed and created a need for even more urgently-needed church and school buildings.

Volunteers on this project will be working at the La Tinguiña Adventist School in a suburb of Ica, Peru. The congregation started meeting in this location in 1975 and have been praying ever since for an Adventist school. In 2019 Maranatha agreed to build them a school and later that year, the members stepped out in faith and tore down their existing church to make room on the property. Unfortunately the COVID-19 pandemic has delayed the construction of the school, but the members are still faithfully awaiting their new school.

At this time, no children’s ministry programs or health outreach is planned. However, if we have enough volunteers interested in these outreach activities and COVID-19 restrictions don’t prevent us from conducting these programs, we could add them to the project scope.

At the end of the project, the group will have the opportunity to visit the world famous ruins of Machu Picchu!
