Overview

Blue Mountain Academy (PA) Project is one of our many efforts based in North America. Each year, Maranatha works with organizations in the United States and Canada to provide volunteer labor for various construction or renovation projects.

Blue Mountain Academy is a fully accredited Seventh-day Adventist boarding school for grades 9-12. This is Maranatha’s seventh year assisting Blue Mountain Academy with dorm renovations. We are almost finished and hope to complete the girls dorm rooms this year. On this project, Maranatha volunteers will continue the renovations, including the installation of new flooring, closets and furniture.

Project Stats Report:$49,770 (237 volunteer days x 7hrs per workday x $30/hr)

Renovation of the girls dorm rooms – 17. Consisted of gutting rooms and removed the floors. Installed new floors, build new closets, installed new windows and doors. Patched a wall. Removed ceiling fixtures and prepared rooms for painting.

VIEW ACCOMMODATION DETAILS

Blue Mountain Academy has a variety of housing options for volunteers to choose from. Dormitory rooms and Kamp Keystone cabins are all nicely furnished, but please bring your own towels and twin bedding to use during the project. There are also 25 RV sites will full sewer, electric, and water hookups. There are also many more RV spaces with water and electric hookups only. The Blue Mountain Academy cafeteria will provide meals to volunteers.

Travel Information

If you are planning on flying to the project, the closest airport is Lehigh Valley Airport (ABE) in Allentown, Pennsylvania, about 35 minutes from the school.

Please book flights that come in before 6 pm on the arrival date. If you need to fly in later, please check with the Maranatha office to confirm that your arrival time can be accommodated. If you are flying to the project outside of the arrival and departure date, please check with the office to be sure you can be accommodated or you may be responsible for your own transportation. Please send your itinerary to volunteer@maranatha.org so pick up arrangements can be made.
