Oshkosh Camporee (WI) Project
What's Included
Overview
The Oshkosh Camporee (WI) is one of our many efforts based in North America. Each year, Maranatha works with organizations in the United States and Canada to provide volunteer labor for various construction or renovation projects.
You can be part of one of the most exciting youth events in the world! Every five years, 50,000 Pathfinders from nearly 100 countries gather in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, to play, share, learn, and worship together.
Maranatha volunteers on this project will help with logistics, set up, and tear down of the structures for this large event. We are seeking 50 volunteers who can arrive before the Camporee and stay beyond the Camporee event to help with these projects. You must have your own RV or bring your tent. There are no other housing options. You must be able to stay for the entire duration of the project, August 5-20, 2019. We will not be able to accommodate late arrivals or early departures.
We can use contractors, plumbers, and electricians, as well as nurses to help with the nursing station. Volunteer helpers will also sew costumes for the evening programs, assist in the kitchen, and provide security during the evenings.
Volunteers dug holes for and put up baptismal pools (4), built steps for baptismal pools, walkways for pools, built floor for the Hope Channel tent, built 5 stations for interpreters, built deck for parade, built decks for food trailers (2), built shower house entry and exit (5), put up fence around evening program area, built entry stands for evening program, painted stripes on field for evening programs, put up curtains and built stands for signs for dinosaur adventure, built boxes for storage, put carpet down in dressing room, sewed costumes, worked merchandise store, worked at nail mosaic, helped with meals, and then helped dissemble everything.
ScopeProject will consist of helping with logistics, set up, and tear down of the structures for this large event.
