Maranatha offers at least two family projects each year that provide service opportunities for every member of your family, both young and old. This year, families on the Summer Family Project will join together for construction and/or renovation projects, painting, and community outreach programs. Also, young volunteers will be able to participate in special activities that will share insights into life in the Dominican Republic.

Catalina Island or Colonial District

During the project, the group will take a break from all the hard work. The group will have an option to join one of two options for day trip excursions. The first option is a trip to Isla Catalina, an island located about 1.5 miles from mainland Dominican Republic. The picturesque island has white sand beaches, warm clear waters, and palm trees. The tour includes snorkeling equipment and opportunities to purchase souvenirs from the beach vendors. The second option is a walking tour of the colonial district of Santo Domingo where there are historical artifacts and buildings as well as opportunities to purchase souvenirs.
