Overview

The Kohala Seventh-day Adventist Church and Mission School were built in the 1980’s and still has the original asphalt shingles that are in need of immediate replacement. Volunteers will remove the asphalt shingles and install a new metal roof. Located on 2.5 acres in one of the most beautiful parts of Hawaii’s ‘Big Island,’ this project is an opportunity to experience the beauty of Hawaii while serving others.

Travel Information

If you are planning on flying to the project, the closest airport is Kona International Airport (airport code KOA), an hour and a half from the project site. The school has a bus that will be used for airport pick-ups.
If you plan on renting a vehicle to drive from Kona or Hilo to Hawi, please be sure to make your reservations early. December is a peak vacation time frame on the Big Island, so plan accordingly and reserve early.
