Ways to Volunteer
Mission trips have a way of transforming lives, and we want you to experience the joy of service! Volunteering with Maranatha is easy, and there are two basic ways to get involved.
Join a Team
Each year, Maranatha organizes more than two dozen mission trips that are open to anyone who wants to participate. We call these ‘Open Team Projects,’ and volunteers come from all over the world.
Maranatha also organizes multiple mission trips that appeal to specific volunteer groups—such as families, teens, young adults, or people looking for opportunities in North America. Look at our Volunteer Project Categories to see what types of projects are available.
No experience is necessary to join a Maranatha project!
Create a Team
Maranatha helps church and school groups create private mission trips. We match groups to a project location and then share our expertise in developing a spiritually fulfilling mission experience. From developing budgets to choosing safe and comfortable lodging, Maranatha can help private volunteer teams with every aspect of project planning. Once at the mission site, we’ll even connect you with our in-country staff for additional support.
We call these mission trips ‘Group Projects.’ While they are not open to the public, anyone can create a project through Maranatha as long as they have a team of at least 20 volunteers. There is no fee to work with Maranatha.
