Story

The Nueva Italia Seventh-day Adventist Church exists because of gifts that keep on giving. In 2017, the Chávez family dedicated their time to be missionaries in this small town that’s south of Paraguay’s capital city, Asunción. They started a small group, and a man named Américo Brítez offered up his home as a meeting place. Several months later, a woman named Norma Ozorio donated a piece of her land to the group.

Nine years and 11 baptisms later, 19 volunteers arrived on Maranatha Volunteers International’s Paraguay Project to lay the block walls of a church building for Nueva Italia. The team spent their time, money, and energy so that this growing faith community can have a permanent place of worship. And on the last Sabbath of the project, two more baptisms took place inside the new structure!

Each new Nueva Italia member, each heart brought closer to Christ, is the work of God through all of these givers. Will you join them by helping to fund this church’s new building?

Maranatha needs your help to raise $72,000 to cover the remaining cost of this structure. Donations of any amount are welcome. If Nueva Italia’s story has taught us anything, it’s that gifts to this church will keep on giving for years to come.
