Multiple Group Project 2025

Overview
*** On December 19, a new rule restricting foreigners’ access to three Indian states, including Mizoram, was issued. Since then, our field staff has been determining whether the rule would affect our projects and whether special permits would be readily granted.
We now understand that this week’s government decision prevents volunteer projects from happening in Mizoram, where the Pine Hill School is located.
Our field staff is currently developing alternative plans for a construction project in another part of the country that will not affect those who have booked flights to and from Delhi.
We advise those who have not yet bought domestic (IndiGo) flights to Aizawl to stand by and those who have already bought to look for the airline’s refund and changing policies to be confirmed as soon as we have an alternative.
We are sorry to share this news, but we are confident that God cares for everyone and everything.
We should not have additional information until Monday, December 23. ***
The Multiple Group Project is an opportunity for small teams of 15 or less to experience a Maranatha mission project and train leaders to coordinate a project in the future. Volunteers experienced in construction, the medical field, cooking, children’s ministry and outreach are needed on this trip, and unexperienced volunteers are also welcome to learn new skills! All teams will join together for a large group experience while maintaining the intimacy of their own small group. Small groups may come from schools, churches, families, work groups, or other entities.
Small groups on this project will join together to help build a 10 classroom EEC (Education and Evangelism Center) for the Pinehill School located at the border of Myanmar in Mizoram, within the Champai District. The school spans over 400 acres of land known as Advent Hill, leased to them by the state government for a period of 30 years renewable. The church has experienced significant growth in this area, establishing multiple congregations across the Champai district.
Due to the ongoing war in neighboring Myanmar, there has been a substantial influx of Adventist refugees, and the church is actively involved in providing care for them. The school plays a crucial role in hosting large gatherings on its premises.
In addition to construction, volunteers may also conduct local community outreach such as children’s ministry programs and health education.
Small Group leaders will soon be able to register on this page. If you would like to join this trip without a group, you are certainly welcome.
ScopeConstruction
Volunteers in this project will build our largest structure, the Elementary Education Center (EEC). Maranatha has built more than 100 of these school buildings around the world.
