Union Springs Academy (NY) Project
What's Included
Overview
Union Springs Academy is one of our many efforts based in North America. Each year, Maranatha works with organizations in the United States and Canada to provide volunteer labor for various construction or renovation projects.
Volunteers will be working at Union Springs Academy in the state of New York (western New York, near Buffalo). The academy was founded in 1921. Over the years the campus has grown to include administration and classroom buildings, dormitories, faculty housing, a church, and athletic facilities. In addition the school operates a farm and orchard and has many cabins on campus that are utilized for camp meetings and other events. For over nine decades Union Springs Academy has provided quality Christian education to young people.
On this project, volunteers will renovate parts of the boys and girls dorm, which was built in the late 1960’s. Work will include removing old flooring, installing new flooring in the dorms and church basement, as well as painting and replacing light fixtures in the cafeteria. In addition there are other tasks around campus including landscaping.
Project Stats: 218 volunteer work days *7 days*$30=$45,780.
