Overview

Maranatha is looking for volunteers to assist Gem State Adventist Academy in a small renovation project. Gem State Academy is located in Caldwell, Idaho, and offers a Christian education for high school students from ninth to twelfth grade. In addition, the students on campus are involved in running the Gem State Academy Gardens where they grow and sell produce to raise money for the school. The school is now in need of some renovations to improve student safety and general aesthetics. On this project, volunteers will conduct various sheet rock repairs around campus, paint the interiors of various buildings, install new window blinds, remove old carpeting, and conduct general cleaning for the campus.

Volunteers will stay at the dorm at Gem State Academy. Twin mattresses will be provided, but volunteers should plan on bringing their own bed linens and towels to use during the project. There are also places for volunteers to park their RVs with electric and water hookups.

If you are planning on flying to the project, the closest airport is Boise (BOI), a 30 minute drive from Gem State Academy. Please send your itinerary to volunteer@maranatha.org so pick up arrangements can be made.
