Where do YOU belong?Â
For the Eben-Ezer II Seventh-day Adventist congregation, church is more than worship. It is a haven–a place of learning, faith, and safety.Â
You see, Eben-Ezer II, located in La Vega, Dominican Republic, is a Haitian congregation. And while most of them have lived in the Dominican Republic for a long time, many are immigrants from just across the border. Local attitudes toward Haitians can be harsh and full of prejudice; this group of people live in fear and loneliness.Â
But Eben-Ezer II offers all of these Haitian immigrants a place to worship and more. They offer English and Spanish language classes. Lessons to prepare people for their driving license tests. Music sessions to encourage people to play in the church band. Friendship and care.Â
Every outreach geared toward growing dignity for people who have been marginalized. Every ministry is about building belonging.Â
The only thing missing is a permanent place of worship. This group of more than 250 has been shuffling from place to place. They can’t afford a church of their own. But they need stability for this growing family of believers.Â
Will you help to build belonging by making a year-end gift to the mission of Maranatha?
Your gift today will help provide urgently needed structures all over the world, including a new church for Eben-Ezer II! Any amount will help, from $50 to $50,000! May you be part of this mission to create belonging here on this earth and in the Kingdom of God.
