Though COVID-19 has brought much of the world to a halt, in the African nation of Côte d’Ivoire, Maranatha Volunteers International’s local crews have been able to continue working on projects.
The Anan Seventh-day Adventist Church has been stuccoed, and the doors and windows are painted.
The Abbebroukoi Seventh-day Adventist Church has received stucco and two buildings have been erected next to the church to serve as classrooms for a new Adventist school. Those buildings have been stuccoed as well.
The Abbebroukoi school will initially offer Kindergarten classes, with plans to expand up to sixth grade.
In 2019, Maranatha began working in Côte d’Ivoire (formerly Ivory Coast) to provide churches and schools in the country. The commitment is in response to a request from the Seventh-day Adventist Church in West Central Africa. To start, Maranatha will focus on projects in Abidjan, the country’s largest city and headquarters for the Adventist Church in West Central Africa.
