Countdown to #GivingTuesday 2017

Get ready to give BIG for the fifth consecutive #GivingTuesday movement, an international day of giving. This year the event takes place on November 28, and Maranatha Volunteers International is hoping to raise $10,000 for a water well in Zimbabwe.

Throughout the month of November, we’ll be sharing stories of need from Zimbabwe and information on how you can donate for a water well on our website and Facebook and Instagram pages.

Then, on November 28, be sure to go to www.maranatha.org to make a donation for #GivingTuesday. Help us to reach our $10,000 goal for a water well!

The #GivingTuesday movement was started in 2012 by the 92nd Street Y and the United Nations Foundation as a response to escalating consumerism following the Thanksgiving holiday. The event, which takes place the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, encourages people to make a donation to their favorite charity. The online movement is largely promoted through social media. Last year, #GivingTuesday raised $168 million in charitable donations worldwide.
