What's Included

Overview

Monterey Bay Academy (MBA) is located 15 miles south of Santa Cruz, California, in a small community of La Selva Beach. The boarding school sits on 379 coastal acres, which include about three fourths of a mile of private beach, beautifully kept lawns, flower beds, and Monterey pine and coastal cypress trees that frame amazing views of the Pacific Ocean. Once a U.S. military base, this school has now been in operation for more than 60 years and has served as a place of learning and spiritual growth for more than 8,000 students.

MBA has recently been given funding for capital improvements and repairs. They have held work bees and already completed many improvements, but there is still more work to be done. On this project, volunteers will help with a variety of projects that could include the repair and installation of a concrete culvert, roofing, foundation repair, framing repair, window installation, exterior painting, installation of a new flagpole, and landscaping.
