Establish a lasting legacy for Maranatha

Through planned giving, you and your family can realize benefits from making a gift to Maranatha. Planned gifts include bequests through your will, charitable gift annuities, gifts of life insurance, retirement plans and charitable trusts.

Make An Important Gift Through Your Will

A charitable bequest in your will can benefit Maranatha and simultaneously save you estate tax dollars. There are several ways Maranatha can be named as a beneficiary in your will. In many cases, you can easily add Maranatha to your existing will through a simple amendment called a codicil so that nothing will have to be redrafted.

Make An Immediate Gift to Maranatha

Many donors support Maranatha with gifts of cash or other properties. They receive tax benefits as well as the satisfaction of making a difference through Maranatha.

Receive Lifetime Income

The charitable gift annuity is a wonderful way to support Maranatha while receiving a regular income and favorable tax benefits. You make a charitable gift of cash or other property to Maranatha. You and/or another beneficiary then receive fixed quarterly payments for life. The rate of payment is determined at the time the gift annuity is funded. When you establish an annuity you are eligible for an immediate federal income tax deduction for a portion of your gift. Your deduction is based on the size of the contribution, the annuity payment rate, and the ages of the income beneficiaries.

Gifts of life insurance

A paid-up life insurance policy that is no longer needed may be donated to Maranatha. You may claim a charitable deduction and the proceeds are removed from your estate.

Gifts of retirement plans

IRA rules have changed to allow anyone to name a charity as the whole or partial beneficiary of any IRA account. If you name someone other than your spouse or a charitable organization as the beneficiary of your retirement plan at your death, the assets may be subject to both income and estate taxes.

Transfer wealth to your heirs

If you want to minimize estate and gift taxes on assets that you intend to leave for your heirs, you may want to consider a charitable lead trust. This opportunity allows you to benefit Maranatha until assets are transferred to your heirs.
